Nine Days and Counting

Nine days and counting, the words that make a little one squeal with joy and adults shudder at the thought. It's no wonder that by the time the holidays are over many stand thinking, "was I even there?" We want to help ease your stress and take time to enjoy this most beautiful of holiday seasons at Ivy and Twine. When you shop with us, there is lovely holiday music playing while people greet each other and often times offer advice on gifts. Of course our little friends in the front cage, will also greet you. Terri and Trisha do an incredible job in helping you find exactly what you are looking for ... whether it be for your home or a present.
From one of a kind nativity scenes to ornaments for your tree, we are here to help complete the holiday season. This weekend in particular we know there will be many holiday parties taking place. Our monogrammed candles are the perfect hostess gifts as well as holiday dish towels, soaps and those fantastic smelling Tyler candles.

Gift Ideas

December 9 ... how can that be? Yes, we are even shaking our heads at the store wondering where the time has gone. However, if you are still searching for that perfect gift, we truly believe we have an idea for even the hardest person to buy for on your list.

For a mom, wife, sister or best friend we recommend you check out the beautiful new jewelry that just arrived from Jessica Henry. The necklaces have been a favorite among our customers, but the new wrist bracelets are equally as divine!

Another great gift idea for women of all ages, is a t-shirt or belt buckle from Pieces of Me. The thermal cross design is extremely popular, as well as any of the many sterling belt buckles and straps we sell.

Glory Haus is always a great gift idea at a very reasonable price point. The ornaments, which can be personalized, are great gifts for newlyweds, babies and teachers. The canvas collegiate boards are also a great idea for that SEC fan in your home.

And we must brag about Ice Milk Aprons. We have been carrying these for quite some time and just recently it was selected as one of Martha Stewart's top holiday gift idea for 2010. There are so precious, you might have to get yourself one, too.

Of course we have our beautiful topiaries and monogrammed candles. And now we are even offering full names on the candles. They are gorgeous and make wonderful hostess gifts.

Keeping It Local

At Ivy and Twine we are so proud to say we represent many local artists. From Glory Haus to Jessica Henry Jewelry and from Pieces of Me to many items created by our own Trisha Maggard, we are truly blessed to have found these talented people.

This week we would love to introduce you to the beautiful jewelry created by Jessica Henry. A local artist, Jessica is from Dallas, GA. Her jewelry is handmade from fabrics and unique vintage jewelry pieces. Her amazing bracelets and unique necklaces, can all be found at the store. We are also proud to now be offering pieces from her Provencal Collection. These are wonderful gift ideas for that special someone or even yourself to wear to a holiday party.

A Time for Thanksgiving

Each time this year we are reminded of our many blessings. At Ivy and Twine we are blessed with some of the most wonderful customers around. You all are not only customers, but true friends. We are thankful for the many of you who just pop in to say hello! We love seeing you and hearing about the adventures in your lives. We also appreciate your support of the store, by shopping with us and telling your friends about us.

We are also thankful for our vendors, many who are local and offer us some of the most unique gifts. We so appreciate you selling your beautiful items at our store. And we so love telling all of our customers about each and everyone of you.

Ivy and Twine would not be the successful boutique it is today if it weren't for all of you. So please know that as you all give thanks this week for your family and friends, we will also be giving thanks for you! We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

The Holidays Have Arrived at Ivy and Twine

There is finally a chill in the air, and yes the holiday season is upon us. We are so blessed to have such wonderful customers, and we are hoping you all have a joyous Christmas season.

Last Thursday we held our annual Joyeux Noel. What an incredible evening. We want to thank all of you who made it out ... we loved seeing dear customers and meeting new friends. If you missed it, don't worry, we still have a fantastic selection of beautiful Christmas gifts and home decor treasures.

Several popular items include our Christmas decor in our "white" room. Choose from vintage tree trimmings and lovely items to display in your home during the holiday season. As always our monogram candles and ornaments from Glory Haus are quite a hit, as well as the gorgeous jewelry designed by Jessica Henry. Marietta's Own America Picker

Many times Trisha and Terri are asked where they get all of their wonderful finds. A great deal of items come from talented local artists but many are also found out in the great unknown. Yes that's right Ivy and Twine's incredible selections are sometimes picked up by Terri on her own personal "Picker Tour." What's a Picker you say? Some might call them a modern day archaeologist in the world of antiques. They are those individuals who can search throughout the land and distinguish junk from an antique. Perhaps you have even caught the show, America Pickers, on the History channel. This is exactly what Terri does at least once a year.
As she navigates her way through the Southeast, Terri travels with snacks and an emptied van, which has plenty of room for the objects she will soon find along her journey.
A few of the finds she often discovers includes ironstone, vintage dishes, historical marriage certificates, vintage prints, books and antique furniture.
"When she gets back to the store, it's like Christmas," said partner Trisha Maggard. "I have promised I am going with her one time!"
There is no doubt that it's a gift to be able to know what is a keeper, but we all think Terri has definitely got the knack to know!
